🌳 Stump Grinding & Removal

At Hall’s Tree Services, we use professional-grade stump grinders to safely and efficiently remove unwanted tree stumps from your property. Whether it's a recent tree removal or an old, rotting stump, we’ll eliminate the eyesore and prevent regrowth or root damage.

Our process is quick, clean, and minimally invasive:

  1. Site Inspection – We assess the stump’s size, location, and root spread.

  2. Grinding Process – Using a powerful stump grinder, we chip the stump into small wood shavings below ground level—usually 4–12 inches deep.

  3. Clean-Up – The leftover mulch can be removed or left behind for use in your garden.

  4. Optional Re-Turfing – On request, we can fill the hole and prepare the area for grass, replanting, or paving.

🛠️ How Do Stump Grinders Work?

A stump grinder is a powerful machine designed to remove tree stumps by grinding them into small wood chips. It features a rotating cutting wheel with sharp, tough teeth that shred the stump into mulch, layer by layer.

Here's how it works:

  1. Positioning – The machine is placed directly over the stump.

  2. Grinding – The cutting wheel spins at high speed, moving side to side across the stump. As it turns, it grinds the wood down below ground level—usually 4 to 12 inches deep.

  3. Root Removal – Surface roots can also be ground down if needed.

  4. Mulch Left Behind – The ground stump becomes mulch, which can be reused or removed.

Stump grinders come in different sizes—from handheld units for small jobs to large, self-propelled machines for bigger stumps. At Hall’s Tree Services, we use professional, high-powered stump grinders that allow us to work efficiently and safely on stumps of all sizes.
